Hello,
My name is Louis, I am a long time breeder and Cat enthusiast of Siamese and Balinese cats. My love for the breed started when I was about 10 years old; soon after my family and I moved into our first home in Pasadena CA. I remember sitting on my porch facing my neighbors house and looking at the most amazing cat I had ever seen in my life. Even at a distance I can see those piercing deep blue eyes, dark rich chocolate points with a creamy clean coat that caught my attention immediately. It was right there and then that my fascination for this breed started. Unfortunately I could only admire and dream of owning a Siamese one day, so everyday I would visit my neighbor just to spend time with her Siamese cat. This love lasted for 6 years before they moved away and took their cat with them. My only solace was to get a cat of my own to fill my void for Simon. Many cats came and went between the time Simon left and the time I moved away from home but none could ever meet my expectations the way Simon did. He was the best and the smartest cat of them all. It wasn't until years later at 27 years old that I purchased my first two Siamese kittens, which truly satisfied this long time desire to have my very own Siamese cats. Now this is where my adventure with cats really begins. After many years of being catless, I basically had forgotten what it was like to be around cats again and therefore, I was more less clueless about Feline behavior and how to go about training my pair of Siamese cats. They basically drove me nuts for the first 8 months. They got into everything and caused allot of damage to my house by scratching and clawing my furniture, walls and door frames not to mention some other behavioral problems I was facing. After much aggravation and work, I finally started to get into their little minds by studying them. I realized that cats in general are highly intelligent with a very independent way about them that make them a little more difficult to train than dogs. I was determined to train my 2 hellions and turn them into well behaved cats, of which I succeeded gloriously, but not without some frustration. Now 20 years later after immersing myself with cats I realize the first step to training is understanding and that is what made my initial experience difficult. As a breeder and a Feline behaviorist I am consulted by many cat owners, customers and other cat lovers seeking help in understanding their Feline Companions behavior. Unfortunately due to time restraints I cannot be of help to many seeking my assistance, that is why I've been searching high and low to find a book or a manual that focused on Cat behavior and training, that could facilitate all cat lovers dealing with frustration over their cats annoying and disturbing habits. A book that empowers you with proven training techniques that actually work; a book that all cat lovers can relate to. Finally , I found one that really targets just about all areas of concern, feline behavior, and training. This is the book I think all cat owners should read. The Secret of Cats in a great book for every feline companion, especially for those looking to acquire their first cat. This book is truly a fountain of information. Check this book out. You'll love it. Cat Secrets Revealed
